Biography

Fang Yong, Chief Physician and Associate Professor in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Ninth People's Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, and Executive Vice President of the hospital. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of burns, scars, correction of congenital malformations, and aesthetic medicine. Born in October 1967, he graduated from the Department of Medicine, Second Military Medical University with a bachelor's degree in 1990. In 1997, he graduated from the Graduate School of Second Military Medical University and obtained a doctoral degree. From 1997 to 2001, he worked in the Department of Burns and Plastic Surgery, Changhai Hospital Affiliated to Second Military Medical University. In 2001, he was transferred to Baogang Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Second Medical University and served as Director of the Department of Burns and Plastic Surgery. He has undertaken more than 20 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission, Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, and Shanghai Municipal Health Bureau. He has received one Shanghai Municipal Medical Science and Technology Achievement Award and one Huaxia Medical Science and Technology Achievement Award. He has published more than 60 papers (including 5 indexed by SCI), 2 monographs, and has contributed to several other books. He serves as a member of the Burn Surgery Branch of the Chinese Medical Association; Vice Chairperson of the Burn Surgery Branch of the Shanghai Medical Association and Member of the Plastic Surgery Branch; Standing Committee Member of the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Branch of the Shanghai Medical Doctor Association; Standing Editorial Board Member of the Chinese Journal of Injury Repair and Wound Healing; and Editorial Board Member of the Chinese Journal of Burns.
